Welcome to the Meditation Group Amsterdam of Self-Realization Fellowship. This meditation group is composed of devoted members and friends of Self-Realization Fellowship a worldwide nonprofit religious organization with international headquarters in Los Angeles, California.
Self-Realization Fellowship was founded in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda for the purpose of disseminating Kriya Yoga, a definite scientific technique for attaining direct personal experience of God.
Through its worldwide service and teachings, Self-Realization Fellowship seeks to awaken greater understanding of the harmony underlying all true religions, and a fuller expression in this world of the love that unites all people when they realize their oneness in God.
SRF Lessons are available to those who would like to study the SRF teachings. The Self-Realization Fellowship present the methods of concentration, energization, and meditation taught by Paramahansa Yogananda that are an integral part of the Kriya Yoga science. In addition, this comprehensive home-study series offers inspiring and practical guidance for attaining balanced physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Further information about the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons is included in the booklet Undreamed-of Possibilities, available in our group.
More information on SRF publications and a schedule of events of the Amsterdam Group are available in the Amsterdam Group. We have free literature and a collection of books, tapes and other items for sale. It is possible to buy them, before and after the evening meditation on Mondays.
As an introduction, we suggest that you read Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi. Copies of this spiritual classic are available in the Amsterdam group or in bookstores all over the world. You can get the Dutch version also online. If you can't read or have problems with reading, there is an audible version available which you can order by the SRF.
